Security Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Security Engineer with experience in physical security systems, CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarm systems to join our team in Cyprus.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring the technical and physical security of offices and facilities
• Administration of the UniFi access control system: granting, modifying, and revoking access permissions
• Administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Ajax security system
• Monitoring and maintenance of CCTV systems at Redcore facilities
• Diagnostics and troubleshooting of CCTV, Ajax, and access control systems
• Installation and configuration of cameras, sensors, readers, and other security equipment
• Preparation of equipment layout plans and proposals for security system upgrades
• Coordination with suppliers and contractors regarding the procurement, repair, and maintenance of security equipment
• Inventory management of equipment, components, and spare devices
• Maintenance of technical documentation, system diagrams, fault logs, and records of completed work

Requirements

• Experience working with physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intrusion alarm systems
• Hands-on experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining cameras, sensors, readers, controllers, and related security equipment
• Experience with UniFi Access or similar access control systems
• Experience with Ajax or other intrusion alarm systems
• Understanding of CCTV, access control, and physical security system architecture and operating principles
• Ability to diagnose technical faults and independently resolve common system issues
• Basic knowledge of networking technologies, including IP addressing, LAN, PoE, VLAN, and TCP/IP
• Ability to read and prepare security equipment layout diagrams
• Experience maintaining equipment inventories and technical documentation
• Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors and equipment suppliers
• Strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to organize technical work independently
• Ability to respond promptly to technical failures and security system incidents
• English proficiency sufficient for working with technical documentation and communicating with suppliers
• Experience with NVR/VMS platforms and understanding of video storage and archive management principles
• Understanding of ONVIF and RTSP protocols
• Basic Linux skills
• Understanding of security system configuration backup and recovery principles
• Understanding of basic cybersecurity practices, including administrative account management, MFA, access privilege control, and firmware updates
