Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and performance testing of substation equipment to verify compliance with design and operational requirements.
• Lead and mentor junior technologists during on-site commissioning activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions and technical deficiencies.
• Perform detailed test result analyses, ensuring accurate reporting and documentation.
• Coordinate activities with project management, engineering, and client teams to achieve smooth commissioning operations.
• Implement and enforce safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and isolation protocols.
• Participate in pre-job safety meetings and field-level risk assessments.
• Provide continuous feedback and recommendations to enhance commissioning quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a closely related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in high-voltage substation commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Solid knowledge of power system theory, substation protection, and control systems.
• Experience in brownfield substation environments is an advantage.
• Familiarity with electrical testing tools (e.g., Omicron, Doble, Megger, power analyzers, multimeters).
• Ability to interpret single-line diagrams, control schematics, and SCADA drawings.
• Competence in using software and relay interfaces (e.g., SEL, GE, Siemens, ABB).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable working at heights, in varying weather conditions, and under time-sensitive circumstances.
