About Data Competency at Sollers:

Versatility is the keyword when it comes to what we do in IT. Data Competency is one of our initiatives to support the digital transformation of the financial sector, enabling our customers to become truly data-driven companies. The Senior Data Consultant & Architect sits at the intersection of deep technical expertise and transformation advisory – a role that connects our delivery teams, our clients, and the broader data ecosystem in the insurance sector.

About the role. You will:

  • Act as a trusted consultant, advising clients and internal stakeholders on modern data stack selection (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks) and data governance frameworks. Leads data-related discussions at both strategic and operational levels.
  • Support the sales and pre-sales process by providing subject matter expertise for RFP responses and defining high-level solution architectures.
  • Ensure knowledge retention and propagation for the technical teams – providing guidance on data platforms, data governance, data modelling, pipelines, ETL/ELT processes and best practices.
  • Translate complex business requirements from insurance domain into actionable data solutions and delivery plans.
  • Engage confidently with senior decision-makers and C-level stakeholders from large insurance organizations.
  • Dive into technical details when needed – reviewing data models, query logic, integration designs and pipeline architectures.
  • Support knowledge transfer, documentation and capability building across the team.

About the requirements. You need:

  • 10 years of experience in data domain.
  • Proven experience in a data-focused role combining technical depth with client-facing responsibilities.
  • Deep expertise in modern data stack (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, ETL/ELT frameworks) and experience in building automated quality gates and CDC mechanisms.
  • Proven experience in data governance and security, especially in regulated sectors like insurance or finance.
  • Expert knowledge of cloud data architectures (Lakehouse, Mesh) and interoperability between cloud platforms.
  • Experience planning and managing data projects in the insurance or broader financial services sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with both business and technical audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills (at least C1 level).

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with additional cloud data platforms (AWS / Azure) or modern data architectures (data mesh, lakehouse, medallion).
  • Experience with Snowflake Cortex AI or other AI/ML-augmented data platforms.
  • Background in insurance data models, regulatory reporting or actuarial data processes.
  • Experience mentoring technical teams or building internal knowledge bases.
  • Knowledge of additional languages, especially French or German, will be an asset.

We Offer

  • Flexible working hours and a hybrid home office model (2-3 times per week in the office) as work-life balance is crucial at Sollers.
  • A chance to be promoted twice a year and a clearly defined career path with salary forecast.
  • Opportunities for growth with a training budget that you can use for courses and conferences. We also provide access to an online training platform and co-fund language classes.
  • An internal coach to guide you through the onboarding, further training and career opportunities, plus a budget to be used for your lunches together.
  • A chance to #domore for the planet and the community as part of Sollers Change Makers – our volunteering program.
  • Lots of teambuilding activities, trips, hobby groups and cultural events to create a company powered by teamwork.
  • Probably all the benefits you can think of!

Tips & Tricks

Mirek, IT Specialist

It’s always good to have a resume complete in terms of foreign languages proficiency, acquired skills and commercial experience. Truth is always the most important aspect, so be honest.

You are applying for a Junior position and have no experience? Don’t worry – just add your projects’ portfolio (eg. on github) and show us what you’ve been doing so far.

We’re looking for people open to learning new technologies, getting familiar with the financial sector, particularly insurance.

Pavlo, Developer

My top 3 tips for an interview at Sollers are:

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and admit you don’t know the answer to a given question – it doesn’t mean you know nothing, it just saves a time for all of us

IT knowledge at least on solid basic level is also a must. This includes data structures, design paradigms and patterns, architecture design and coding principles to name a few

Lack or little commercial experience? Be prepared to solve some algorithm tasks
