Senior Data Integration Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer to lead a SQL Server to Aurora PostgreSQL migration and modernization engagement powered by AWS Transform for.NET / SQL Server. This role involves porting database schemas, code objects, and application data access layers from Microsoft SQL Server to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL while validating and refining AI-generated outputs from AWS Transform alongside DMS, SCT, and Kiro.

Responsibilities

• Port SQL Server database schemas to Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL to ensure structural integrity, data type mapping, and constraint parity
• Convert T-SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views to PL/pgSQL equivalents and resolve syntax, data type, and behavioral differences
• Update T-SQL queries embedded in C#/.NET application code to PL/pgSQL-compatible syntax and refine the data access layer using Npgsql and Entity Framework Core
• Operate AWS Transform for.NET / SQL Server as the primary AI agentic accelerator to submit workloads and review agent-generated artifacts
• Apply AWS DMS for data migration and replication, AWS SCT for supplementary schema conversion, and Kiro for GenAI-assisted code analysis
• Deploy converted schemas, code, and data to a non-production Aurora PostgreSQL environment
• Configure instances, parameter groups, security settings, and connectivity to mirror production patterns
• Validate compile and execution of migrated SQL code objects and confirm communication between the updated application and Aurora PostgreSQL
• Design test plans that cover functional correctness, data integrity, performance benchmarking, and regression testing

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in database development and migration
• English proficiency at B2+ level
• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) and Proficiency in PostgreSQL (PL/pgSQL) including Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL
• Skills in AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) and AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)
• Proficiency in C#/.NET data access layers including Npgsql Entity Framework Core and ADO.NET
• Background in database schema migration across SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms
• Expertise in database modernization testing including compile validation, functional testing, and performance benchmarking

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AWS Transform for.NET / SQL Server and GenAI-assisted migration tools
• Knowledge of AWS Aurora configuration including parameter groups, replication, and Performance Insights
• Familiarity with Amazon CloudWatch for database monitoring and alerting
• Skills in Python for scripting and automation and CI/CD for database deployments
• Familiarity with Kiro for AI-assisted code refinement workflows
