About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Multimedia Software Engineer (C++ / Linux) for a 95% remote role. This position is with SOLCOM GmbH and is a CONTRACTOR opportunity.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Embedded Multimedia Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Developing embedded multimedia software for edge platforms
Utilizing C++ and Linux expertise
Working with technologies such as GStreamer, Video4Linux2, audio/video processing, and streaming technologies
Integrating MQTT and D-Bus
Using CMake, Conan, Docker, and GitLab CI/CD
Debugging at the system level across Linux, networking, containers, and hardware
Designing scalable software architectures and APIs

Requirements

Must-haves

8+ years of professional software development experience
Expert in Modern C++ (C++17/20) and Embedded Linux
Strong experience with GStreamer, Video4Linux2, audio/video processing, and streaming technologies
Experience with ARM64 platforms and cross-compilation
MQTT and D-Bus integration experience
Proficiency with CMake, Conan, Docker, GitLab CI/CD
System-level debugging across Linux, networking, containers, and hardware
Experience designing scalable software architectures and APIs

Nice-to-haves

Experience with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, NVENC/NVDEC, DeepStream
Knowledge of WebRTC, SDVoE, SMPTE ST2110
Medical device software development (IEC 62304, ISO 14971, MDR, FDA)
Understanding of cybersecurity concepts such as TPM, certificates, secure updates
