Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania.

Responsibilities

  • Applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches, and techniques to product, process, and services to meet program requirements
  • Reviews the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations, and work flows
  • Identifies new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations
  • Designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel
  • Reviews work flow design and analysis
  • Leads the development of models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers
  • Leads research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization
  • Reviews plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods
  • Evaluates product assembly instructions and standardizes assembly practices
  • Leads operations planning, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis, and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met
  • Leads execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling, and shop load practices
  • Monitors production, performance visibility, and recovery planning support
  • Ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location options.

Requirements

  • Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

    • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
    • 9+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e., Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
    • Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools
    • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

    • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, plant layout, simulation, and production scheduling
    • Experience leading improvement projects using continuous improvement methodologies
