Role Overview

Our client is at the forefront of technology, engineering competitive advantages through a proprietary, near-deterministic AI-powered development platform. They are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join their core team, driving system design and taking full ownership of infrastructure delivery. In this role, you will lead the architecture, construction, and operation of everything from container orchestration and distributed job queues to infrastructure-as-code patterns and production telemetry. This is a highly hands-on platform and infrastructure engineering role. You will routinely write production-grade TypeScript backend services, stand up scalable cloud infrastructure, and ensure that long-running, resource-intensive developer workflows remain completely reliable, highly observable, and thoroughly secure under heavy load.

Responsibilities

• Platform APIs & Orchestration: Build, optimize, and deploy orchestrator-style APIs on Kubernetes (managing operations like agent initialization, suspension, state synchronization, and secure reads).
• Asynchronous Distributed Jobs: Implement and scale distributed job queues and background workers for long-running indexing, code building, and release management tasks.
• Data Layer Architecture: Design, scale, and evolve the platform’s data layer-including database boundaries, optimized access patterns, and strong consistency models at scale.
• System Integrations: Seamlessly connect internal microservices and external webhooks with reliable event handling, transactional callbacks, and distributed handoffs.
• Production Operations: Own and advance logging, distributed tracing, alerting frameworks, and modern incident response workflows across production environments.
• Developer Experience (DX): Take ownership of local development environments, monorepo tooling, and internal productivity scripts.
• Monorepo Structural Evolving: Plan and execute large-scale codebase structural migrations without freezing product delivery timelines.
• CI/CD Pipelines: Own the architecture and continuous execution of deployment and integration pipelines end to end.

Requirements

Experience

• 8+ years of hard-core software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of dedicated cloud infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• 3+ years of practical experience building responsive React applications.
• 3+ years building, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise-grade CI/CD automation pipelines.
• Proven track record of shipping and operating complex, multi-service production applications at scale.
• Complete comfort owning major cloud infrastructure decisions and delivery end to end.

Technical Depth & Skills

• Absolute expertise in TypeScript, Node.js, React, and Next.js.
• Deep understanding of modern monorepo architectures (such as Nx) and why massive codebases rely on structured monorepo methodologies.
• Strong AWS cloud experience, specifically spanning Amazon EKS, complex networking, IAM policies, and secure secrets management.
• Production-grade Kubernetes experience-including deployments, custom ingress routing, advanced health checks, and autoscaling policies.
• Familiarity with the modern developer tools ecosystem, including IDE extensions, custom CLIs, and third-party developer integrations.

Extreme Ownership

• You actively monitor staging and production environments, identifying infrastructural gaps and closing them before they impact users.
• You design systems for failure from day one, planning for worker crashes, duplicate webhooks, cache restarts, and transient cloud outages.
• You focus entirely on delivering rock-solid, working systems in production rather than structural diagrams that never ship.
