Senior Java Backend Developer

About the Position

We’re looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our team in Yerevan and help build a large-scale technology platform from the ground up.

This is more than a development role - you’ll have the opportunity to influence the architecture, core technical decisions, and engineering standards of a new product from its earliest stages.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend architecture and microservices using Java, Spring & Spring Boot
• Build core services, frameworks, and integrations that will become the foundation of a large-scale platform
• Make architectural decisions and contribute to the long-term technical strategy
• Develop reliable, high-performance services with a strong focus on clean and maintainable code
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to turn business requirements into effective technical solutions
• Take ownership of technical challenges and drive solutions from idea to implementation
• Contribute to engineering standards and best practices as the platform grows

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with Java 17+
• Solid hands-on experience with Spring / Spring Boot
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and microservice architecture
• Experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD and modern deployment pipelines
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset
• Ability to make technical decisions independently and take responsibility for the outcome
• Experience building systems or products from scratch will be a strong advantage

We are specifically looking for candidates who are currently based in Yerevan or ready to relocate to Yerevan and work from the office.
