Senior Mainframe Developer (Payment Systems)

About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mainframe Developer (Payment Systems) with strong experience in COBOL, Unix/Linux, and Payment Systems to support the development, enhancement, testing, and deployment of enterprise payment applications. The ideal candidate will work closely with Product Owners and business stakeholders to analyze requirements, implement changes, support testing activities, and ensure successful production rollouts.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze business and technical requirements received from customers and Product Owners (PO).
• Perform impact analysis and identify application changes required to meet business needs.
• Design, develop, and enhance payment processing applications using COBOL in Unix/Linux environments.
• Execute unit testing and ensure quality of delivered code.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including defect analysis and resolution.
• Participate in deployment activities, production rollouts, and post-implementation validation.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design documents, and implementation guides.
• Attend daily Scrum ceremonies, status meetings, and other project discussions.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in COBOL development
• 5–10 years of experience working in Unix/Linux environments
• 5–10 years of experience in the Payments domain
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies.
• Experience in application maintenance, enhancement, and production support.
