This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures, including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades. Spirit Commercial’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles, and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the end-to-end sourcing and contracting process, including defining Statements of Work (SOWs), developing and issuing bid packages, evaluating supplier proposals, awarding work, and negotiating and executing supplier contracts.
  • Integrates disciplines from more than one supplier management and procurement job family applying independent, specialized technical expertise to support a wide range of business objectives.
  • Works cross-functionally with internal and external customers, suppliers, and employees across all levels to carry out responsibilities.
  • Applies process management and improvement techniques.
  • Uses problem-solving skills and analytical abilities to develop innovative and expedient solutions to problems.
  • Facilitates work teams, provides training, and interfaces with internal organizations and external customers with regard to project planning, problem resolution, and process improvement.
  • The role demands a focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.
  • Candidates must also display strong judgment, leadership, and integrity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and departments in a diverse environment.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, and/or Program Management within a production environment, including direct people leadership and team management responsibilities.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Experience working with multiple cross-functional groups.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effect change.
  • Knowledge of MRP systems, SAP preferred.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or other relevant course of study.
  • MBA or Master’s Degree highly preferred.
  • Knowledge/experience with manufacturing and manufacturing processes.
  • APICS, CPIM, CSCP, or other industry certification.
  • 4+ years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Governance and compliance background including experience with AS9100 or other external audits.

  • Summary Pay Range: $109,450 - $167,850.
  • Kansas Tax Credit: Join Spirit AeroSystems’ Kansas team and you may be eligible for a $5,000 state of Kansas Aviation tax credit for up to five years.
