About the Position
Senior Mobile QA Automation Engineer (Appium & WebdriverIO)
Join Avenga, a global company with over 6000 specialists, as a Senior Mobile QA Automation Engineer. You'll be part of a team building a modern mobile application for a leading financial services company in the Middle East. This role is focused on mobile automation, where you'll establish test automation from the ground up using Appium and WebdriverIO.
Responsibilities
- Design and build a mobile automation framework from scratch.
- Develop and maintain automated tests for iOS and Android applications.
- Create reliable end-to-end automated test scenarios covering key customer journeys.
- Collaborate closely with developers, Product Owners, the QA Lead, and QA engineers to define testing strategies and improve product quality.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, investigate, and verify software defects throughout the development lifecycle.
- Continuously improve automation coverage, framework quality, and engineering practices.
Requirements
- Commercial experience with mobile test automation using Appium.
- Experience testing mobile applications on iOS or Android (experience with both platforms is a plus).
- Comfortable working with JavaScript or TypeScript.
- Experience with WebdriverIO is a strong plus.
- Experience testing and automating REST APIs.
- Enjoy writing clean, maintainable code and have a strong engineering mindset.
- Understand software testing methodologies, automation best practices, and QA processes.
- Communicate confidently in English and enjoy working in cross-functional Agile teams.
Nice to Have
- Experience designing or building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Experience testing React Native applications.
- Experience in banking, fintech, or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
