About the Position

Job Title: Senior Municipal Civil Engineer

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Municipal Engineer will be responsible for day-to-day municipal engineering activities, including wastewater treatment, stormwater management, water supply systems, and project management. This role involves both office-based design work and field support, contributing to the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop project plans and supervise or participate in engineering design activities
• Design and oversee a wide range of municipal improvement projects
• Conduct street design and street needs assessments
• Perform technical analyses for new street construction and modifications to existing streets
• Maintain city-wide maps, plans, and thoroughfare plans
• Apply traffic engineering principles to the design and maintenance of traffic signals, signage, lighting, and related systems
• Maintain project databases as directed by project managers
• Research, write, and edit technical reports and business correspondence
• Provide engineering support and recommendations through field visits and site inspections
• Conduct field reviews and site visits as required
• Attend project-related meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical reports and business correspondence
• Public presentation skills
• Familiarity with stormwater modeling software
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, MicroStation, and OpenRoads

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Ongoing professional development, certifications, and training supported
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Ohio

Experience Requirements

• In-depth knowledge of municipal engineering design principles, including wastewater, stormwater management, water supply systems, and project management
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience (flexibility based on skill set and expertise)
