Senior Network Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with 10+ years of experience in designing large enterprise networks to join our team in the DC/MD/NoVA area. This expansion role is for a Senior Network Engineer / Network Security Engineer to perform on-site and project-based consulting with various customers to design, implement, and support Cisco-based networks.

Responsibilities

• Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, and document Cisco networks and related systems
• Develop both high-level and detailed implementation and test plans for Cisco technologies related to enterprise networks
• Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients
• Develop documentation as it relates to project requirements
• Assist with or develop customer-facing presentations of technology solutions

Requirements

• CCNP or CCIE level expertise in Enterprise Infrastructure, Security, Data Center, or Service Provider
• 10+ years of experience in the design of large enterprise networks
• Good understanding and practical experience with Virtual Private Network (VPN) and next-generation firewall technologies (NGFW)
• Good understanding and practical experience with routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP)
• Good understanding and practical experience with switching technologies (Spanning tree, EtherChannel, Port Security, 802.1X, MAB)
• Must be able to work with end-users, communicate clearly, and meet deadlines

Nice to Have

• Experienced with Software Defined Networks, specifically DCNM/NDFC and/or VXLAN technologies
• Experienced with on-prem to cloud migration
• Experience in the integration of data network and storage system in a data center environment
• Experience with Nexus 9K/7K/5K/2K/100V switches
• Familiarity with VMware virtual and storage environments
• Network programmability for automating network tasks
• Familiarity with Network Security Technologies like ISE, Zero Trust, SDA, Segmentation
• Excellent understanding/experience in dealing with SNMP Network Management Servers and configuration of SNMP agents

We Offer

• Competitive salary up to $180,000 per year
• Hybrid role with occasional on-site visits required
