Senior Software Engineer

About the Position

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a team building and maintaining storage management solutions for enterprise storage platforms. This role focuses on the design, development, and support of storage services integrated with Kubernetes working across the Linux storage stack and distributed storage environments. You will contribute to systems that help customers build flexible, scalable, and resilient storage and cloud infrastructures.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain storage services and their integration with Kubernetes, including CSI drivers, storage orchestration, provisioning, and data-path components.
• Develop and enhance storage management applications using open-source and third-party technologies.
• Work across the Linux storage stack, including block-layer filesystems and components that expose storage to client systems.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning kernel, storage, drivers, cluster orchestration, and networking layers.
• Perform performance analysis, reliability improvements, and failure-mode testing of storage-related components.
• Package, harden, and deliver storage and platform services as part of a Kubernetes-based product.
• Contribute to architectural decisions related to storage, compute, and networking integration.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to ensure scalable, resilient, and maintainable platform solutions.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in at least two of the following areas: Linux, Kubernetes, or Storage Systems.
• Strong systems programming skills with C or Go.
• Experience developing or debugging Linux kernel code, including kernel modules and subsystems related to I/O.
• Deep understanding of the Linux I/O path, memory management, scheduling, and their impact on storage performance.
• Experience building complete CSI driver solutions or developing and operating custom Kubernetes distributions.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes internals, including etcd, kubelet, CRI, CNI, CSI, controllers, operators, and API machinery.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across cluster internals, storage layers, drivers, and infrastructure components.
• Experience with storage protocols, drivers, filesystems, or storage services such as Samba, NFS, ZFS, OpenLustre, or related technologies.
• Understanding of SCSI standards and the Linux storage ecosystem, including SCST, LIO, and the Linux SCSI subsystem.

Nice to Have

• Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals, routing, tunneling technologies, VPNs, and mesh networking solutions including WireGuard, Tailscale, EdgeVPN, and OpenVPN.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark, including Kubernetes networking components.
• Experience with performance engineering, profiling, benchmarking, and optimization of storage and networking stacks.
