Senior Software Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Python and Neo4j to join our innovative team in Warsaw, Poland. This role focuses on data engineering and integration, working on projects that span various industries such as fintech, medtech, edutech, and industrial automation.

Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance: Define and implement data validation mechanisms, provenance tracking, and quality metrics for the Knowledge Graph.
• Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple internal and external biomedical sources.
• Data Normalization: Normalize, harmonize, and standardize data and identifiers from various sources.
• Knowledge Graph Development: Develop and maintain a Knowledge Graph based on Neo4j.
• Schema and Data Model Design: Design and develop the schema and data model in Neo4j.
• Query Optimization: Optimize Cypher queries and ensure the performance of the solution.
• Data Pipelines: Develop and maintain data pipelines and ensure their reliability.
• Data Provider Collaboration: Work directly with data providers to resolve issues related to schemas, identifiers, and data consistency.
• Data Preparation: Prepare data for use in AI solutions, analytics, and initiatives such as Blindspot Analysis.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with research scientists, data scientists, and software engineers to translate scientific needs into stable and scalable data solutions.

Requirements

• Python: Very good knowledge, especially in the context of data engineering and pipeline creation.
• Neo4j: Practical experience.
• Cypher: Very good knowledge of Cypher, schema design, and query optimization.
• Data Integration: Experience in integrating multiple heterogeneous biomedical data sources.
• Data Quality: Very good knowledge of data quality practices in production environments.
• Data Validation: Experience in defining data validation, quality metrics, and data provenance tracking.
• Data Provider Collaboration: Experience in collaborating with data providers and resolving issues related to schemas, identifiers, and data consistency.
• Biomedical Standards: Knowledge of standards and identifiers used in biomedical data.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work with interdisciplinary scientific and technical teams.
