About the Position
We are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer to join our QEA Team in Toronto, Canada. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in Java-Selenium and API automation testing. This role involves leading projects, mentoring junior engineers, and driving continuous improvement in our automation strategies to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design and implementation of scalable and maintainable test automation frameworks.
- Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java, TestNG, and Selenium/Playwright.
- Design, develop, and execute API automation scripts using Rest Assured.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage for both frontend (UI) and backend (API, database) components.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Ensure timely delivery of automation test coverage as part of Agile sprints.
- Apply your understanding of Generative AI platforms to test AI-driven features or utilize AI tools to optimize the testing lifecycle.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics.
Requirements
- Overall 8-12 years of experience as an SDET or in a similar automation testing role.
- Expert in designing and building automated testing frameworks using Behavior Driven Development and Test-Driven development tools like Cucumber, Selenium, Playwright.
- Must have 2+ years of experience in API Automation Test using Rest Assured.
- Strong knowledge of Database Testing, SQL, and MySQL.
- Ability to work independently and contribute to the team with minimum supervision.
- Knowledge of CI/CD integration tools and practices.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Playwright automation.
- GitHub Copilot experience is highly preferred.
