Senior Test Automation Engineer (Java)

About the Position

We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer (Java) with experience in UI test automation and API testing to join our client in the medical and life sciences industry. In this role, you will work on a desktop application running on a laboratory instrument and be responsible for developing and maintaining automated tests, ensuring software quality, and supporting CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated tests for a desktop application running on a laboratory instrument.
• Analyse requirements and specifications to identify appropriate test strategies and test cases.
• Execute automated and, when needed, manual tests, and report defects with clear information.
• Monitor and improve test coverage, reliability and execution time of the test suites.
• Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines by integrating and optimising automated tests.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices, tools and processes in an Agile/Scrum team.
• Collaborate closely with developers, product owners and other QA engineers to ensure high software quality.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java, backed by senior-level experience in test automation.
• Experience with UI test automation tools or frameworks.
• Experience working with build tools such as Gradle and/or Maven.
• Knowledge of API testing.
• Very good knowledge of English.
• Willingness to occasionally work from the office in Wrocław (a few times per month).

Nice to Have

• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with task and test management tools such as Jira, Xray, TestRail, Zephyr, Azure DevOps or similar.
