About the Position

Software Architect/Financial Engineer

The Interface Financial Group is seeking a Software Architect/Financial Engineer to join our team in Bethesda, USA. As a key member of our technology team, you will be responsible for the strategic architecture and deployment of our data infrastructure ecosystems. You will architect, design, and develop major components of a next-generation stream and batch processing lending platform.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute various methods for data collection and acquisition.
  • Analyze statistics and recommend ways to improve various risk models.
  • Develop and write functional requirement documents to assist software developers.
  • Coordinate with software developers and perform tests on software requirements.
  • Administer technical performance and monitor up gradation processes for various businesses.
  • Monitor account-related issues and provide expert advice on methods and processes for existing systems.
  • Perform and evaluate functional requirements and required calculations such as algorithms.
  • Research various products, gather knowledge on user requirements, and develop plans to improve products.
  • Design and execute pricing models for financial products and services.
  • Monitor lending models, establish capacity parameters, and recommend improvements.
  • Administer risk calculations for customers and evaluate appropriate tools.
  • Manage and resolve complex financial issues and develop effective mathematical and statistical methods to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with software developers and develop effective implementation methods for various functional products.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with object-oriented design, coding, and testing patterns.
  • Experience in architecting, building, and maintaining software platforms and large-scale data infrastructures.
  • Experience building big data solutions.
  • 2+ years of software development experience.
  • Experience with technologies such as Amazon EC2 is a plus.
  • A strong team player with the ability to quickly triage and troubleshoot complex problems.

Preferred Skills

  • Numerical/financial algorithms, XML, JSON, C#, Java.
  • Database relationships and data schemas.
  • RESTFUL API knowledge.
  • Software testing methodology.
  • Financial analysis skills.
  • FRM (Financial Risk Manager) Certification.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
