About the Position

We are looking for a Staff Product Manager, Search Ranking to join our team in New York City, NY or San Francisco, CA. We connect independent retailers around the globe to discover the best products from around the world to sell in their stores. By leveraging tech, data, and machine learning, we aim to level the playing field so businesses can grow and local communities can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategy that enhances our search experience via ranking algorithmic iterations.
  • Own a product roadmap for Search Ranking that is analytically grounded, clearly prioritized, and connected to business outcomes.
  • Direct the analytical work of the pod to identify novel opportunities, diagnose root causes of failure modes, interpret outputs, and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Determine the right sequencing of opportunities, balancing near-term wins against longer-term technical investments.
  • Define and refine the metrics that give the team a clear picture of Search Ranking performance and the retailer experience.
  • Build trusted partnerships across ML Platform, Discovery Infrastructure, and adjacent Search teams, managing team bandwidth while delivering on shared goals.
  • Represent the team's strategy and progress to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of product management experience, including direct ownership of search or ranking systems, ideally at a marketplace or e-commerce company.
  • Strong prioritization instincts with a track record of identifying the highest-impact opportunities and sequencing them.
  • Technical fluency - comfortable engaging with technical white papers and holding informed conversations with engineering and data science counterparts.
  • Execution rigor across complex, multi-dependency work.

We Offer

  • Competitive salary range of $220,000 - $302,500 USD per year.
  • Equity and benefits.
  • Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a flex day of your choosing) and remote work flexibility up to 4 weeks per year.
  • Move fast: Own meaningful problems that serve customers around the globe.
  • Equipped to scale: Invest in the latest enterprise AI tools to help you work smarter.
  • Best in class: Work with a team of sharp, kind, and generous colleagues.
  • Real rewards: Competitive pay, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Belonging: An environment where every Faire employee has equal access to opportunities, growth, and success.
