About the Position
Tax Manager
The Tax Manager is responsible for managing the companyâs tax compliance, tax provision, tax planning, and tax audit functions. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and international tax regulations while supporting the organizationâs overall tax strategy and financial reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review income tax provision calculations, including the effective tax rate, uncertain tax positions, deferred tax assets and liabilities, valuation allowances, journal entries, and tax account roll forwards.
- Manage US international tax calculations including GILTI, BEAT, FTC, FDII, etc., and the impact of acquisitions or divestitures.
- Review transfer pricing calculation and documentation.
- Oversee preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns.
- Manage estimated tax payments, extensions, and other required tax filings.
- Review of Research and Development credit calculation.
- Manage federal, state, and local tax audits and inquiries.
- Conduct technical tax research and prepare documentation supporting tax positions.
- Monitor tax law changes and assess impacts on the company.
- Assist or manage other ad hoc/special projects (e.g., Pillar 2 analysis, transfer pricing modeling, tax planning, M&A, sales/use/withholding tax assistance, review business contracts, etc.) as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting (or equivalent) with 5+ years corporate tax experience in public accounting and/or industry.
- CPA license preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. corporate income tax.
- Experience with international tax concepts (GILTI, FDII, BEAT, Subpart F, Section 174, etc.) and multi-state taxation and tax compliance.
- Experience with indirect taxes (including sales and use tax and property tax) is a plus, but it is not a core requirement for the role.
- Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end compliance processes, prioritize competing deadlines, and independently drive projects to completion.
