About the Position
We are looking for a Team Lead Game Art to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the visual development of our game projects, ensuring that all visual elements meet the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of game development lifecycle and visual design principles.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the visual development of game projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and technical requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on game concepts, UI designs, illustrations, animations, and other game assets.
- Supervise the development of visual concepts and animations for all game types.
- Organize and maintain a clear, structured workflow for game projects.
- Improve and scale the game art production pipeline, optimizing team processes and introducing new tools and technologies.
- Generate ideas for improving game visuals, user experience, animation quality, and overall product presentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, product managers, and developers.
- Distribute tasks within the team based on priorities, workload, and team members' expertise.
- Estimate art production timelines and support project planning.
- Provide regular reports on the Game Art team's performance.
- Mentor team members and support their professional development.
- Participate in hiring, interviewing new team members, and reviewing portfolios and resumes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Game Development, including 1+ year in a leadership position.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in games development.
- Strong knowledge of composition, color theory, typography, visual hierarchy, and user-centered design principles.
- Deep understanding of the game development lifecycle.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Solid understanding of Spine animation (ability to review and provide feedback).
- Experience with AI-powered design tools and workflow automation.
- Strong understanding of technical requirements for game assets.
- Experience planning workloads, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business priorities.
