Test Automation Specialist – Data Testing

Zurich, Switzerland

Fixed term role for 6 months with potential extension

Cognizant is looking for an experienced Test Automation Specialist with a strong focus on Data Testing to support enterprise data platforms and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation frameworks for data testing and regression testing.
• Create automated test cases for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and reconciliation.
• Validate data quality using SQL and large-scale datasets.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
• Analyze and troubleshoot test failures and data quality issues.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, and Data Models.
• Hands-on experience building test automation frameworks from scratch.
• Strong SQL and data validation expertise.
• Programming skills in Python, Java, or similar.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and automated test execution.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, or similar cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with Great Expectations, dbt Tests, PyTest, Selenium, or equivalent tools.
• Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or large enterprise data environments.
