About the Position

Wizcorp is seeking an Unreal Engine Programmer to join our team for exciting next-generation console projects. This is a full-time, remote position based in Tokyo, Japan.

Responsibilities

• Design, test, and debug code independently
• Break down large features into engineering tasks and collaborate with other engineers to complete them
• Mentor engineers on software development best practices
• Work on both the game engine and its tools
• Communicate confidently with all team members

Requirements

• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Experience with C++ and Unreal Engine
• Strong debugging and optimization skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with source code management systems (Git, SVN, Perforce)
• Japanese proficiency (JLPT N3 or higher)
• English proficiency (able to read, write, and discuss technical matters)

Nice to Have

• Experience with C#, Ruby, Python, or Shell Scripting (Bash, PowerShell)
• Familiarity with the Unreal Engine build pipeline
• Experience with other game engines like Unity
• Experience developing for released game titles (minimum 1 title)

We Offer

• Competitive Salary: Monthly range from ¥400,000 to ¥640,000
• Flexible Work Hours: Core hours are 11:00-16:00, with flexibility outside of these hours
• Remote Work: Primarily remote, with occasional office visits required
• Benefits:
  • Home office allowance: ¥15,000 per month
  • Language lessons support (Japanese and/or English)
  • Commuting expenses covered (excluding commuter pass reimbursement)
  • Paid leave: Weekends, national holidays, annual leave (10 days after probation), bereavement leave, and sick leave (5 days after probation)
