Usability Engineer (all genders)

About the Position

We are seeking a Usability Engineer (all genders) to join our team in Berlin or Leipzig. If you have a passion for understanding complex requirements, distilling them to their essence, and transforming them into intuitive user interfaces, we want you on our team. You will not only design outstanding user interfaces but also accompany your designs through development until release and beyond.

Responsibilities

• You will design and create outstanding User Interfaces in line with Human-Centered Design.
• You will lead the project, team, and clients through all Design Phases: Discover – Define – Develop – Deliver – Evolve.
• You will integrate the diverse requirements from users, product managers, and software developers into innovative functional concepts.
• You will visualize your ideas and solutions quickly, clearly, and expressively – digitally or analogically.
• You will significantly develop customer collaboration and establish processes for the sustainable success of the software product.
• You will enjoy exploring new design, technological, and societal themes, have a passion for technically oriented questions, and actively shape the processes in your environment.
• You will take pleasure in presenting your concepts to clients and stakeholders and sharing your expertise with your colleagues.

Requirements

• You have proven practical experience in UI/UX Design and in the described task area.
• You have very good German and English skills (at least C1 level) for clear and confident communication within the team and with our partners.
• You have a completed degree in product, interface, or interaction design, media informatics, or a comparable educational background.
• You have the ability to transform complex relationships into simple, efficient, and user-centered operating concepts.
• You have a structured approach – information architectures, personas, user journeys, wireframes, flows, visuals, prototypes, and testing are routine for you.
• You are proficient with current tools and workflows (e.g., Figma/Sketch, AI-supported tools, analysis, and research tools) and are open to new ways to optimize your productivity.
• Your practical experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, etc.) leads to better concepts and enables you to communicate effectively with the development team.

Nice to Have

• Proficiency in German and English (at least C1 level).
• Experience with Figma/Sketch, AI-supported tools, analysis, and research tools.
