Virtualization and Platform Automation Senior Engineer

About the Position

We are seeking a Virtualization and Platform Automation Senior Engineer to join our team in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, for a full-time role.

Responsibilities

• Operate, optimize, and improve enterprise VMware infrastructure (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, HA/DRS clusters) for availability, capacity, and performance.
• Lead DevOps-oriented development of internally built infrastructure tools supporting provisioning, lifecycle management, and operations.
• Design and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code automation with Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, and Python for repeatable provisioning and configuration.
• Build and integrate REST APIs and CI/CD pipelines (Git, GitLab CI/CD) into infrastructure workflows.
• Participate in on-call rotations, lead root-cause analysis, and improve runbooks for virtualization and automation incidents.
• Act as a senior SME and mentor, collaborating with operations, DevOps, security, storage, and application teams on technical roadmap decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years in virtualization, infrastructure engineering, platform operations, or infrastructure automation in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on VMware expertise: vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, HA/DRS, capacity management, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.
• Proven automation and IaC skills with Ansible, Terraform, PowerCLI, and Python.
• Experience building or consuming REST APIs and running CI/CD pipelines with Git and GitLab CI/CD.
• Solid grounding in ITIL, incident and problem management, and on-call operations for production infrastructure.
• Able to act as a technical authority and mentor, explaining trade-offs across DevOps, security, storage, and application teams.
• Working English for daily collaboration with teams in the Czech Republic and APAC.

Nice to Have

• Experience in financial technology, banking, e-commerce, or other high-availability environments.
• VMware Aria/vRealize, NSX, vSAN, or large-scale multi-site VMware environments.
