About the Role

As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and reliability of our OpenStack and Kubernetes-based customer solutions. You will work closely with our clients and internal teams to meet their requirements while maintaining the integrity of our platform. Your main goal is to support our customers in the deployment, implementation, and optimization of their cloud infrastructures, always ensuring compliance with security regulations and standards.

Responsibilities

Architecting highly available applications on OpenStack + Kubernetes and network security through our hardened SINA VPN perimeter
Explaining complex security concepts and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and supporting their implementation
Planning and executing customer projects on-site, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, patching, and network work on distributed systems
Conducting knowledge transfer to customers and our parent company secunet

Requirements

Degree in Computer Science or a related field, possibly with involvement in open-source projects - Certifications (CNCF or similar) and professional experience are advantageous
You have in-depth knowledge and experience in OpenStack, Kubernetes, CI/CD following GitOps principles
Practical experience in system administration, network technology (especially VPNs), containerization, VMs, and general cloud technologies (OpenStack) is beneficial
You are a team player and open to constantly exploring new technologies and methods that can improve the cloud security of our customers
Very good German and good English skills, as well as a high willingness to travel (40%)
