About the Position

Data Science Engineer

Be a part of our elite Data Science Team! As an individual contributor, you will be working on both client projects and strategic solutions development by leveraging your deep analytical skills and your ability to implement complex analytical methods using current Data Science tools and languages.

Responsibilities

• Work on end-to-end predictive modeling engagements with Aviana clients
• Contribute to multiple projects at the same time, as demand requires
• Support team members with aspects of the projects that require advanced R/Python programming
• Develop visualizations and presentations that communicate data insights and modeling results to business users
• Contribute to Aviana strategic solutions development in a Data Science role; collaborate with the Product Management and Product Development leads

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of experience providing Advanced Analytics solutions; prior experience in consulting, highly desirable
• Proficient in R and Python Programming; hands-on experience with Python libraries – SciPy (Experience with Matplotlib), NumPy, Pandas
• Experience with AWS / Azure / Google Cloud
• Candidates with the following skills, highly desirable: SPARK, HADOOP, MONGO
• Experience with platforms like Domino, Databricks, IBM DSX
• Ability to handle large volumes of data with Hortonworks/ Cloudera or similar platform required
• Experience working with 3rd party datasets (Fred etc.)
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL Databases
• Work experience with traditional Data Warehouse and Reporting platforms (Tableau, Power BI), a plus
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• PhD or other advanced degrees related to advanced analytics, statistics, etc. is highly preferred
