About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Architect with over 25 years of expertise in secure IoT, cloud connectivity, and network stacks for a remote position.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement system architecture for connected devices
• Develop layered and event-driven architecture, design patterns, and interface contracts
• Implement concurrency and multi-core design, memory and caching strategy, and MPU-based protection
• Simulate device behavior on Windows as a virtual device clone running the actual firmware
• Conduct code reviews, technical documentation, and team mentoring

Network & Protocol Stack (remote-capable, screen-bound work)

• Complete TCP/IP stack implementation, TLS 1.2/1.3 with mbedTLS and hardware acceleration
• Manage certificate management and certificate pinning, secure communication design
• Ensure compliance with EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) requirements for connected devices
• Implement HTTP(S), REST, MQTT, and JSON protocols
• Work with automotive and marine protocols: CAN-FD, J1939, NMEA2000, ISO 15765-2, ISO 14230, UDS, ODX
• Integrate Ethernet PHY/MAC: NXP SJA1110, TI DP83867/8381X; RGMII, SGMII, MII, 100BASE-T1, 1000BASE-TX
• Optimize performance and debug network stacks

Secure communication via TLS (mbedTLS) with certificate pinning on a multicore design with MPU-based memory protection.
