About the Position

Energy Founders Associate Intern - German speaking (on-site)

Berlin

Vollzeit

Praktikum/Werkstudium

About the Role

Cloover is revolutionizing how households think about renewable energy. Since the launch of our energy department last year, we've made significant strides: we've introduced a dynamic tariff to the market, provided our installation companies with an energy management system, and are driving the smart meter rollout across Germany.

Now, we're stepping up our game. Cloover is becoming our own electricity provider, and we're launching a battery offer. As a Founder’s Associate Energy, you'll build this business with the team: you'll design the product, calculate the models behind it, negotiate with manufacturers, and bring it to market through our installation partners. At the same time, you'll ensure that everything runs smoothly in daily operations. If you want to think strategically but also roll up your sleeves, seek real responsibility-not sometime in the future, but from day one, you're in the right place.

You'll report to the Head of Energy & Operations and work closely with Finance, Sales, and Product.

Responsibilities

  • Co-develop Cloover's new battery product end-to-end - from product definition to go-to-market strategy to the first sold system. You'll shape how the offer looks, not just how it's communicated. This gives you the rare opportunity to co-develop a product in a startup from the ground up and bring it to market.
  • Conduct negotiations with manufacturers and partners - terms, guarantees, integrations. You'll prepare the discussions, sit in on technical calls with OEMs, and, with growing experience, take over the negotiations yourself.
  • Build processes from scratch with AI. You'll work closely with Product and Tech to turn ideas into reality and scale Cloover's reach. You'll identify optimization potentials in energy-related processes and implement concrete improvements - using AI applications, automations, and internal tools that ensure quality in customer and partner communication even as volume grows.
  • Empower our installation partners - on-site and remote training, product training, sales materials. You'll ensure that partners understand the new offer and actively sell it.
  • Operative excellence along the energy customer journey. You'll work closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, and Finance, keeping energy-related processes smooth and solving problems before they escalate.
  • First point of contact for installation partners and partly end customers via email and phone. This gives you deep insights into the entire process from the start, helps you build solid energy knowledge quickly, and translates regulatory requirements into clear explanations - so partners and customers understand their path to their own energy supply.

Your Profile

How you think and what you bring matters more than where you've been. These are the prerequisites for your success in this role:

  • Ongoing or completed studies, ideally in Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Breaks down unclear topics into sub-questions and comes back with a recommendation, not a summary.
  • Takes on responsibility without being assigned, sees an open issue, and closes it, even if the outcome is uncertain.
  • Communicates clearly and solution-oriented in German, accepts difficult requests from partners and customers without losing composure, and finds a way forward.
  • Works structured and keeps multiple topics in hand without anything falling through the cracks.
  • Dives into complex topics: you don't need prior knowledge of the energy market, we'll teach you the market, but you must bring curiosity.
  • Fluent German (C2) required, very good English skills.
  • You are based in Berlin, or willing to relocate for it, and bring energy to the office. We are deliberately office-first, decisions are made in real-time, customer cases are followed up during lunch, and the founding team is ten meters away. If this is how you work best, you'll feel right at home here.

Nice to have - but not mandatory:

  • Initial experience with AI tools, automation, or no-code.
  • Practical experience from startups, consulting, or the energy industry.
  • Interest in greentech, fintech, or renewable energies.

Our Process

We keep the process transparent and respect your time. Most candidates go from the first interview to the offer within three weeks.

  • First Meeting (30 Min.) - We want to understand what you're looking for, not just tick off your resume.
  • Interview with your future supervisor (30 Min.) - We go deep: your experience, your mindset, how you approach problems.
  • Case Study (60 Min.) - You'll get the task in advance. We're interested in your approach, not whether you come up with the one correct answer.
  • Offer & signed contract.

About Us

At Cloover, we're building the AI operating system for the energy transition: a platform that helps thousands of installation companies in Germany and Austria sell more, plan faster, and deliver better. We've secured a total of $1.32 billion in funding: $1.3 billion in committed external financing and a Series A round of $22 million. We're just at the beginning of our European expansion.

We're a high-performance team that works with purpose. We take full responsibility for our work, discuss ideas intensively, pull together, and implement without hesitation. Here, the hierarchy doesn't win, the best idea does. Speed is not a goal we strive for, but the way we work.

And we're AI-first from the ground up. We don't experiment with AI, we're built with it. Tech delivers faster because AI prototypes before we build. Sales closes more because outreach is personalized at scale. Finance tests scenarios in real-time. People & Culture builds processes in a fraction of the time. No matter the function: AI is what makes us punch above our weight, and it's a skill you'll develop faster here than almost anywhere else.

We believe the energy transition belongs to everyone, and that includes our team. We're international, driven, and deliberately inclusive. We hire based on potential and perspective and welcome people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
