Global Head of Strategic Procurement (m/f/d)

About the Position

We are looking for a Global Head of Strategic Procurement (m/f/d) for our client – an international tech-manufacturing company operating in global markets. We seek a person to take on a newly created role responsible for strategic procurement on a global scale.

This position combines responsibility for transforming the procurement organization with managing key categories.

The role covers several manufacturing plants across Europe and Asia, as well as an international team of approximately 40 people. Poland will be a particularly important area, where both volume production and NPI activities are being developed.

Responsibilities

• Taking over global responsibility for the procurement organization and building a model of its operation that meets the needs of a rapidly growing business.
• Developing procurement strategies for key categories, with a particular focus on electronics, electrical engineering, and mechanics.
• Managing a multi-million budget and achieving business goals in individual companies.
• Restructuring, reassigning responsibilities, and managing categories, as well as developing the competencies of the international procurement team.
• Managing the global supplier base, strategic negotiations, and initiatives related to supply security, dual sourcing, costs, and risk reduction.
• Close collaboration with R&D, production, NPI, and other business functions to ensure component availability and support for the implementation of new products.
• Representing the procurement area in selected contacts with key clients, especially regarding supply continuity and sourcing strategy.

Requirements

• Core Skills:
  • Many years of experience in strategic procurement in an international manufacturing or technology organization in the electronics industry, with global responsibility.
  • Very good knowledge of the electronic components market and experience in building sourcing strategies for this category.
  • Experience in managing a large, international procurement team.
  • Experience in implementing organizational changes and developing structures.
  • Ability to combine strategic perspective with a hands-on approach – from defining direction to personal involvement in key negotiations, escalations, and decisions.
  • Experience in supporting organizations during dynamic growth and the ability to build a scalable procurement function with the business.
  • Very good knowledge of English.
  • High independence, decisiveness, and willingness to take responsibility for initiatives undertaken.
