About the Position

Java Engineer - Direct Debit Services - PSS @ING Hubs Romania

We are seeking an energetic Java Engineer with a passion for IT to join our team at ING Hubs Romania. You will be part of a multidisciplinary and cross-functional squad, focusing on developing features for the Direct Debit domain, specifically the clearing process.

Responsibilities

• Development and Design: Responsible for the development and design of Direct Debit components.
• Requirements Gathering: Gathering requirements and performing functional and technical analysis and designs.
• Coordination: Coordinating with other Building Blocks.
• Testing: Providing test input.
• Incident Resolution: Resolving incidents and supporting the application.
• Documentation: Writing comprehensive technical-functional and user manuals.
• Continuous Delivery: Applying continuous delivery practices as part of daily work.
• Security Standards: Implementing all mandatory security standards to ensure IT risk is under control.
• Life Cycle Management: Performing Life Cycle Management (including decommissioning if needed).
• Functional Knowledge: Having functional knowledge of banking/products. Knowledge of the pricing and billing domain is a major plus.
• Agile Ceremonies: Using technical expertise and experience to contribute to Agile ceremonies in a Spotify model.
• Continuous Learning: Continuously developing your own expertise while gathering, updating, and spreading knowledge about developments and challenges regarding your area of expertise by embedding lessons learned and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in Java development (Java 17 and Java 21).
• Technical Skills: Experience with Akka, Kafka, Elastic, Spring boot, Rest API, Azure pipeline, IntelliJ, Kibana, SQL, Oracle.
• Banking Experience: Experience in Banking and/or sepa clearing is a plus.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (internal in the team as well as cross-team).
• Market Focus: IT market focus: seeking for major trends in the new way of working, including Lean IT, continuous delivery, cloud processes, etc.
• Languages: English (advanced).
• Education: Nice to have Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in an IT-related field.
• Eagerness to Learn: Eagerness to learn and ability to coach others.
