About the Position

Java Engineer - Direct Debit Services - PSS

We are seeking a Java Engineer for Direct Debit Services at ING Hubs Romania, focusing on developing features for the Direct debit domain.

Responsibilities

• Development and Design: Responsible for the development and design of Direct debit components including gathering requirements, functional and technical analysis and designs, coordinating with other Building Blocks, test input, resolving incidents, and supporting the application.
• Documentation: Write comprehensive technical-functional and user manuals.
• Continuous Delivery: Apply continuous delivery practices as part of your daily work.
• Security Standards: Implement all mandatory security standards to ensure IT risk is and remains under control.
• Life Cycle Management: Perform Life Cycle Management (including decommissioning if needed).
• Functional Knowledge: Have functional knowledge of banking/products. Knowledge of the pricing and billing domain is a major plus.
• Agile Participation: Use your technical expertise and experience to contribute to the Agile ceremonies in a Spotify model (stand-up, refinement, retrospective, marketplace...).
• Continuous Learning: Continuously develop your own expertise while gathering, updating, and spreading knowledge about developments and challenges regarding your area of expertise by embedding lessons learned and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience: 3-5+ years of experience of Java development (Java 17 and Java 21).
• Technical Skills: Experience with Akka, Kafka, Elastic, Spring boot, Rest API, Azure pipeline, IntelliJ, Kibana, SQL, Oracle.
• Domain Knowledge: Experience in Banking and/or sepa clearing is a plus.
• Education and Certifications: Education and Professional certifications.
• Communication Skills: Strong communication skills (internal in the team as well as cross-team).
• Market Focus: IT market focus: seeking for major trends in the new way of working, including Lean IT, continuous delivery, cloud processes, etc.
• Learning and Coaching: Eagerness to learn and ability to coach others.
• Languages: English (advanced).

Nice to Have

• Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in an IT-related field.
