Java Full Stack Developer (React, AWS/Azure)

About the Position

We are seeking a Java Full Stack Developer (React, AWS/Azure) to build and support customer-facing platforms across a large, long-term ANZ transformation program. You will deliver new features, keep production stable, and help adopt an AI-enabled software development lifecycle using tools like GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Java services and APIs across multiple business-critical applications
• Build and maintain Spring Boot applications in cloud environments (Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure)
• Deliver new features and platform improvements in cross-functional agile teams (Scrum or Kanban)
• Support production operations including incident triage, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
• Improve stability, performance, and maintainability through continuous improvement and automation
• Partner with Australia and New Zealand stakeholders to clarify requirements and align on outcomes
• Contribute to AI-assisted engineering practices as the team adopts an AI-enabled delivery model
• Participate in shift-based support coverage as needed to meet operational requirements

Requirements

• Java expertise as the primary development skill
• Spring Boot experience within modern Java service architectures
• React capability for required front-end development tasks
• Cloud platforms exposure, ideally Amazon Web Services or Microsoft Azure
• Production support mindset including calm, structured incident handling
• Stakeholder management skills for a managed-services environment
• Clear communication in spoken English with ANZ-based teams

Nice to Have

• Domain exposure to Banking and Financial Services
• Containerization experience in cloud-native enterprise environments
• GitHub familiarity including GitHub Copilot or similar AI coding assistants
• Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience
