About the Position
We are a leading pet tech company focused on improving pet care with smart technology. We are now launching a new eCommerce direction and are looking for an e-Commerce Lead to help build it from the ground up. You'll play a key role in shaping the strategy, launching the first product lines, establishing scalable processes, and driving business growth together with the team. This is a high-impact role with plenty of ownership, where you'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution and have a real opportunity to influence the future of a growing business.

Responsibilities
- Build the e-Commerce department from scratch: define the go-to-market, category, and platform strategy, and set up the operational foundation (tools, processes, workflows)
- Own the P&L for the e-Commerce line - pricing, unit economics, margins, and growth targets
- Launch the first product line(s) and iterate based on market feedback and performance data
- Hire, onboard, and lead a team of 2-3+ specialists (growing with scale) across areas like marketing, operations, and content
- Build marketing strategy and roadmaps to drive sales growth, including paid, organic, and lifecycle channels
- Set up post-purchase and retention flows (email, push, SMS) to maximize LTV
- Establish analytics and reporting so the team can make fast, data-informed decisions
- Conduct market and competitor research to keep the offering ahead of best practices
- Continuously improve operational processes: web pages, order fulfillment, customer support, ads reporting
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in e-Commerce, with a track record of building or scaling a D2C/eCom business (bonus points if you've launched one from zero)
- Direct P&L ownership experience - you're comfortable with unit economics, margins, and forecasting, not just marketing execution
- Strong knowledge of Shopify or similar e-Commerce platforms, and hands-on experience with day-to-day e-Commerce operations (fulfillment, customer support, etc.)
- Experience with social media and email/lifecycle marketing
- Experience managing or building a team (2-3+ people)
- Working knowledge of Google Analytics and other reporting/analytics tools
- Solid market research skills
- Comfortable operating with a lot of ambiguity - this is a build-from-scratch role, so initiative and self-direction matter more than a playbook
- English level enough for daily communication with international partners/suppliers
Nice to Have
- Experience with subscription/DTC physical products
- Experience selling on marketplaces (Amazon, Etsy, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
- Experience in the pet industry
- Understanding of eCommerce site UX best practices
