Lead System Architect

About the Position

We are seeking an experienced System Architect to play a key role in providing technical and architectural leadership as a part of our customer delivery operations in Japan.

The Lead System Architect will be responsible for working with EIS customers, system integration partners, and EIS Group onshore/offshore resources to define/document the overall architecture for customer-specific solutions that conform to the EIS standards.

This is a hybrid located position, which will involve homeworking, working at our office site locations, and on customer premises. Some international travel is likely to be required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the EIS solution is architected and delivered in conformance with the EIS architectural and SaaS standards.
• Possess a deep understanding of the technical aspects of software development.
• Have strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively collaborate with customers/partners, business analysts, lead other project team architects, and work with developers & QA.
• Possess a strong understanding of EIS Suite capabilities and how best to leverage them to meet customer business needs.
• Design and ensure the validity of the architectural solutions across multiple EIS Suite domains, integration with other applications/services, and the cloud architecture.
• Set direction for the overarching integration architecture of the EIS solution, ensuring it is aligned with EIS standards.
• Work with business analysts and customers to determine scope and work out a high-level architectural solution.
• Work with EIS Product Management and Engineering to ensure implementation architecture aligns with future Base versions, minimizing upgrade efforts.
• Serve as a technical liaison and advisor to the partner and customer technical leadership, ensuring customer and SI adhere to EIS standards; raise quality and solution integrity concerns.

Requirements

• Theoretical and practical knowledge in programming technologies and software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Strong understanding of object-oriented software development methodology.
• Knowledge of architecture design patterns, code level design patterns, and cross-system integration patterns.
• Ability to write clear architectural design proposals.
• Experience working with open-source frameworks (Spring boot, Apache Camel).
• Experience with API gateways, authentication & authorization (SSO, OAuth 2.0, JWT).
• Experience with Kafka, databases (SQL/NoSQL), cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong problem-resolution skills, especially in distributed systems.
• Familiarity with domain-specific languages (DSLs) is a plus.
• Familiarity with Agile Scrum.
• Understanding of legacy data conversion principles.
• Fluency in Japanese and business English.
