About the Role

CyberInnovate is a venture-building and entrepreneurship development studio with a mission to help entrepreneurs and start-ups build a secure digital future. As a consortium member of the Seeds of Bravery Project (UASEEDs), CyberInnovate aims to support Ukrainian startups and deep tech SMEs, fostering a framework that aligns with the Ukrainian Government’s goal of becoming a 'start-up nation'.

A Startup Matchmaking Officer is responsible for connecting startups with potential investors, mentors, partners, or other relevant stakeholders. This role involves understanding the unique needs of both startups and external collaborators to facilitate mutually beneficial relationships. The Startup Matchmaking Officer acts as a bridge to foster collaboration, investment, and growth opportunities within the startup ecosystem.


Responsibilities

  • Lead CyberInnovate activities within UASEEDs Work package Pan-European Integration (EU –UA Gateway, task Matchmaking activities).
  • Conduct startups’ needs assessment: understand the specific needs, growth stage, and objectives of startups. Evaluate startups to determine their funding, mentorship, or partnership needs.
  • Review startup's individual follow-up plan and onboarding into matchmaking activities, identification of needs for matchmaking.
  • Onboard the startups into matchmaking infrastructure (specific matchmaking platforms provided in UASEEDs).
  • Facilitate matchmaking interactions by introducing the startups to the relevant stakeholders identified on the appropriate platforms (corporates, investors, or government agencies) and review matchmaking activities with startups later.
  • Coordinate startups’ participation in industry events and conferences, and startup competitions.
  • Provide administrative support in organizational efforts to implement the assigned tasks, including: planning meetings following UASEEDs project timeline, establishing contacts with UASEEDs partners.
  • Provide input to other CyberInnovate related tasks in UASEEDs.
  • Develop, monitor, and report on deliverables, results, and indicators.
  • Hold regular weekly management check-in meetings with the CyberInnovate experts and relevant project team members involved in relevant tasks implementation and events.

Requirements

  • A degree in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, economics, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian.
  • Previous experience in a startup, venture capital, or business development role is an advantage.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of the startup ecosystem, including trends, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize effectively.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in event planning or coordination.
  • Familiarity with investor relations and fundraising processes.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and adaptability.
