About the Position

We're seeking an Offshore Island Construction Manager for a landmark offshore energy infrastructure project in Europe. Unique opportunity to contribute to Europe's ambitious energy transition.

Responsibilities

Reports to the Island Works Manager
Coordinates a team of client representatives and project engineers
Responsible for:
- Health, Safety, and Environmental control of the EPC contractor (risk-based) (with support from the HSE officer)
- Quality control of the EPC contractor (risk-based) (with support from the QC officer and onshore project team)
- Progress reporting
- Staffing plan for client reps (with support from the Island Works Manager)
- Hiring + integration of client reps (with support from the Island Works Manager and the onshore project team)
- Review of method statements, Risk analysis, procedures (with support from the onshore project team)
- Proactively identifies risks + opportunities and proposes mitigation plans
- Acts as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) at site towards the EPC contractor for the day-to-day construction activities
- Supported by project engineers (marine, civil) offshore and the onshore project team (marine, civil, PM, QC, HSE, contracts)

Requirements

Hard Skills & Soft Skills

At least 10 years of relevant working experience
Experience with civil construction is a must
Experience in the offshore sector is a plus
Working knowledge of structural and corrosion protection is a large plus
Working knowledge of other disciplines (Electrical, Instrumentation, Telecom, Mechanical,...) is a plus
Education: Engineer (preferably civil)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Working in team and structured
A quick learner
Shows persistence and demonstrates determination
Excellent MS Office skills, knowledge of ACONEX

Training & Certification

Medical (e.g. NOGEPA)
BOSIET or equivalent training
Boat landing training

Languages

Fluent in English
Dutch or French is a plus

Working Model

Accommodation will be provided on the offshore island in single cabins (shared bathroom per two persons).

Crew transfers will be organized via Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs).

Full-time (40 hours/week)

Project familiarization and scope preparation

March 2027 – November 2027

Rotation system with a back-to-back Construction Manager
(2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)
Offshore accommodation provided

December 2027 – March 2028

Full-time (40 hours/week)
Office-based
Lessons learned and scope preparation / optimization

March 2028 – November 2028

Rotation system with a back-to-back Construction Manager
(2 weeks on / 2 weeks off or 4 weeks on / 4 weeks off)
Offshore accommodation provided

Additional Information

Start Date: 07. September 2026
End Date: 31 December 2027
Duration: 16 months, extension possible
