Product Area Lead - Core Banking

The Product Area Lead - Core Banking leads the business product area for the Core Banking solution within the Core Banking Modernisation Program. The role is accountable for shaping customer and banker journeys, setting standards for the product area, and ensuring the business design is clear, coherent, and deliverable across squads.

The role translates strategic outcomes into executable product area priorities across account servicing and core banking capabilities. This includes leading future-state journey design, business process design, scope definition, priority trade-offs, delivery readiness, and benefit realization.

The Product Area Lead works closely with Product Owners, Customer Journey Experts, Service Designers, Business Analysts, Delivery Leads, Architects, Risk, Operations, Technology, and vendor teams. The role provides direction, removes ambiguity, manages dependencies, and ensures delivery decisions balance customer outcomes, business value, risk, regulatory requirements, and operational readiness.

The position also has people leadership accountability. The role develops capability within the product area, supports performance and development outcomes, and builds a strong, collaborative team culture.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Product Management
• Strong leadership skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Deep understanding of core banking processes and technologies
• Ability to translate strategic outcomes into actionable plans
