About the Position
NEKLO is a software development company that provides full-cycle software engineering. We deliver innovative custom application development services, mobile app development services, high-load e-commerce solutions, as well as website testing and support to businesses and enterprises all over the globe.
We are seeking an experienced QA Manual Team Lead to manage and mentor a team of 15+ QA professionals. This role combines strong technical expertise in manual testing with leadership skills to drive quality assurance processes and team performance.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 15+ manual QA engineers
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support professional development
- Allocate resources and assign testing tasks based on priorities
- Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and maintain team morale
Quality Assurance Strategy & Process Optimization
- Define testing strategy and test plans for web applications (and partially mobile/Chrome extensions)
- Optimize and improve QA processes to enhance efficiency
- Ensure quality standards throughout the testing life cycle
- Establish quality metrics and KPIs; drive continuous improvement
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage across all products
Testing & Documentation
- Perform manual testing of new features to maintain hands-on expertise
- Monitor and improve testing documentation (test cases, checklists, etc.)
- Review and approve test plans, test cases, and test scenarios
- Oversee test execution across multiple projects
- Coordinate regression, smoke, integration, and UAT testing
- Manage defect triage meetings and prioritize bug fixes
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with development, product, and design teams
- Participate in requirement analysis and provide QA perspective
- Act as the primary point of contact for QA-related matters
Delivery & Reporting
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases
- Provide regular status updates on testing progress and quality metrics
- Prepare comprehensive test reports and present findings to stakeholders
Requirements
Experience
- 6+ years in manual software testing
- 2+ years in QA Team Lead or similar leadership role
- Proven track record managing teams of 5+ QA professionals
- Experience setting up QA processes and working with Agile/Waterfall methodologies
Technical Skills
- Deep understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Strong experience in web application testing
- Solid understanding of testing documentation: test plans, test cases, checklists
- Proficiency with test management tools (Qase, TestRail, Zephyr, qTest)
- Experience with bug tracking systems (JIRA, Bugzilla)
- Familiarity with API testing tools (Postman, SoapUI)
- Understanding of SQL for data validation
Leadership & Soft Skills
- Excellent people management and mentoring abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile and desktop testing
- ISTQB certification
- Exposure to automation testing frameworks
- Knowledge of performance/security testing and CI/CD pipelines
Language Requirements
- English proficiency at B2 level or higher
