COMPARUS GmbH is seeking a Senior PMO & IT Consultant with AI expertise to lead complex software programs and transformation projects in a hybrid role in Hamburg, DE.

The Principle

Agents support you in your day-to-day work, and you develop these agents further. The two go hand in hand; neither is optional.

Your Impact

Your work is divided across six key areas. This is high-level, traditional PMO and consultancy work within an organization that has long since moved beyond doing this manually.

Project Management

You will lead challenging client projects from planning through to delivery, managing deadlines, budgets, and risks, and maintaining an overview even when multiple projects are running in parallel.

Portfolio Management

You provide an overview of programs and portfolios, clarify priorities with management, and strike a realistic balance between requirements and available capacity.

Reporting

You produce management reports that inform decisions rather than merely repeating figures. At our company, an agent handles the compilation of data from Jira and Confluence, whilst the analysis remains your responsibility.

Financial Controlling

You are responsible for the budget and forecasts and explain any variances before they come to the attention of the steering group.

Data Management

You ensure that project decisions are based on reliable data by, for example, clearly structuring Jira, Confluence, or other data sources and making data quality a standard practice.

Communication with Committees

You prepare steering groups and committees, draft decision papers, and ensure that resolutions are followed up.

In each of these key areas, we work with agents, at varying stages of development. You will help shape the progress of our team’s agent maturity from the very start.

Further Developing Agents

You don’t just use agents, you expand them: you identify which recurring tasks an agent can take on, write the business logic for them, and support their first productive deployment with clients.

Project Management & Consulting

You take on responsibility beyond the traditional PMO role, manage several client projects in parallel, facilitate workshops, and support our sales team with pre-sales and quotations.

Technical Leadership & Team Development

You’ll provide technical leadership to project teams of three to five members, coach junior consultants, and pass on your agent-supported way of working to the team.

What You Bring to the Role

Essential Requirements

AI Expertise

For you, AI isn’t an experiment but a daily productivity lever, and you have the curiosity to turn a tool into a colleague.

• Actively work with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, or comparable LLMs
• Use AI for analysis, documentation, project planning, and presentations
• Understand prompting as a tool for professional knowledge work
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement them consistently
• Continuously develop your working methods using new AI tools

Consultancy Expertise

• Several years’ professional experience (ideally five to eight years) in PMO, IT consultancy, project management, or business analysis
• Experience in complex software development or digitalization projects
• Very good knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban; ideally SAFe)
• A sound understanding of business management
• Very good knowledge of Jira and Confluence
• Very good Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Power Query)
• Initial experience with Power BI or comparable BI solutions
• Experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders
• Strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
• Confident manner when dealing with clients and management
• German at C1 level and English at least B2
• Willingness to travel less than 10% of the time

Nice-to-Have

The points listed here will strengthen your application, but are not essential.

• Experience in the banking, insurance, or financial services sectors
• Knowledge of scaled agile methodologies (SAFe, LeSS, or similar)
• Experience with AI agents, workflow automation, or low-code platforms
• Certifications in project management or agile methodologies (e.g., PSM, PSPO, PMI, PRINCE2)

What You Won’t Be Doing Here

You won’t be producing status reports that nobody reads. Instead, you’ll create transparency, automate recurring tasks using AI, and enable our clients to make better decisions faster.
