About the Position

Senior Counsel, Corporate & Risk

We are seeking a Senior Counsel, Corporate & Risk to join our team at Headway. This role is pivotal in managing third-party contracting, disputes, and corporate insurance, and it offers a remote work option in the United States.

Responsibilities

As Counsel, Corporate & Risk, you will:

• Third-party and vendor contracting: Lead our agentic first-pass contract review and manage escalations and exceptions.
• Disputes and escalated requests: Resolve issues such as patient cost disputes, escalated provider matters, and administrative/regulatory inquiries.
• Corporate insurance: Oversee Headway’s annual corporate insurance cycle and ongoing insurance administration.
• Other corporate and risk matters: Address various corporate and risk issues in a fast-growing start-up environment.

Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years of legal experience, including at least 2 years in-house.
• Environment: Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth start-up environment (healthcare preferred).
• Skills: Hands-on ownership of complex processes, strong judgment, and the ability to balance risk and trade-offs.
• Emotional Intelligence: Ability to build relationships and consensus with colleagues.
• Interest in AI: Genuine interest in working with AI tooling and improving systems.
• Communication: Ability to translate complex topics into clear and actionable advice.
• Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing (ability to register as NY in-house counsel required).

• Compensation: Base Salary $152,000 – $237,500
