About the Role

As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the people agenda for Cognizant Spain. You will coach leaders, strengthen employee engagement, and ensure organizational effectiveness and compliance. Reporting to the Spain HR Lead, you will collaborate with business leaders, employee representatives, and HR centers of expertise.

Responsibilities

• Coach leaders to achieve business objectives and advise managers on engagement, workforce planning, capability development, performance management, and compensation.
• Drive talent management and engagement strategies using knowledge of the business, market, and local talent trends.
• Develop and localize HR policies and processes in line with Cognizant’s global HR strategy and Spanish employment regulations.
• Lead and contribute to HR transformation and operational improvement projects.
• Build constructive dialogue with works councils, unions, and health and safety representatives.
• Use people data and analytics to evaluate the effectiveness of HR policies and practices and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of HR Business Partner experience within an international, complex, and matrixed organization, including collaboration with HR shared services.
• Strong knowledge of Spanish labour law and experience supporting a compliant employee relations environment.
• Demonstrated credibility and influencing skills, with the ability to coach senior leaders and navigate local and global stakeholder relationships.
• Experience leading organizational change, HR transformation, or cross-functional people projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency in English as a working language.

• Experience in the technology, IT services, or professional services sector.
• Experience working with offshore teams or a multi-location shared services model.
• Hands-on experience engaging with employee representatives, works councils, unions, or health and safety committees.
• A practical, data-informed approach that combines strategic thinking with strong execution and prioritization.
• A collaborative and transparent working style, with the confidence to challenge constructively and propose innovative solutions.
