Project Description
A new mobile app is being built from scratch as an MVP. The product focuses on managing access for different user groups through digital passes, while also providing schedules, calendars, and important updates in one place.

Requirements
- 5+ years of native iOS development; expert in Swift, strong with SwiftUI.
- Production experience shipping App Store apps built from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with PassKit / Apple Wallet passes.
- Strong offline-first experience: local persistence, sync/conflict handling, queueing.
- QR generation/scanning and camera (AVFoundation) experience.
- Comfortable owning ambiguity on a greenfield product; clear English communication.
Nice to Have
- Access control, ticketing, or credentialing products.
- Experience with data-privacy regimes (POPIA/GDPR) and recorded consent.
- Push notifications, deep links, EventKit.
Responsibilities
- Build the iOS app from scratch in Swift/SwiftUI - eight member-facing screens plus the guard scanning tool - through App Store release.
- Implement Apple Wallet passes (PassKit) and gate QR codes, with a sign-up flow that branches by registration group and pass type (standing vs. time-boxed, with automatic expiry and manual revocation).
- Build the offline-first guard scanning tool: it must keep validating passes and queue scans locally when connectivity drops, then sync once back online. This is the single most important technical requirement for Season 1.
- Support offline display and scanning of QR/digital passes, and offline viewing of previously loaded schedules and announcements.
- Implement targeted push notifications, sponsorship/dependent logic, and a POPIA-compliant recorded consent step at sign-up (registration captures ID numbers, vehicle plates, and photos).
- Partner with backend, design, and product to turn the brief into a shippable MVP and flag scope risks early.
