As a Senior Java Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and leading the delivery of scalable, high-performance Java-based applications. You will be an integral part of the technology delivery team, collaborating with developers, architects, product teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to build reliable backend solutions that support business-critical applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Java-based applications using modern backend frameworks and engineering best practices.
• Develop, integrate, and support RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot and related Java technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support solution design, technical planning, development, testing, and deployment activities.
• Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, performance tuning, debugging, and production issue resolution.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline, release management, and deployment activities while ensuring high-quality deliverables aligned with coding standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of overall experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Core Java and Java 8 or above.
• Experience developing applications using Spring Boot and the Spring Framework.
• Good understanding of microservices architecture and backend application design.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar platforms.
• Experience using Git and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar technologies.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in Agile or Scrum delivery environments.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Exposure to containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with Kafka or other messaging systems.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
• Experience supporting production applications and resolving technical issues in a timely manner.

We Offer

• Competitive Salary: Base salary ranges between $61,000 – $91,000 per year.
• Performance-Based Bonus: Eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus.
