Senior Java Software Engineer – Consumer Lending Products Development (w/m/d)

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and optimize our critical Java applications and services in the Consumer Lending area, creating modern software solutions with real value using Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Microservices, and more.
Realize new features for our Consumer Lending solutions from idea to production, working across cross-functional boundaries.
Collaborate with Product Owners, architects, and international engineering teams to find the best path forward.
Participate in our architecture decisions, strategic discussions on technology selection, product development, and long-term platform direction to ensure our solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, resilient, and future-proof.
Proactively ensure our software stands for quality by introducing and promoting automated tests, CI/CD, monitoring, and best practices.
Take full responsibility for security, stability, and regulatory requirements in product operations.
Fully commit to teamwork, coach your colleagues with your expertise, and exchange knowledge within the team.

Requirements

Completed degree in (Computer) Science or a comparable qualification.
Long-term professional experience in Java software development, ideally 10 years or more.
Excellent knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and Software Architecture.
Practical experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Testing, Monitoring, and Observability.
Knowledge in Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architectures, or Kafka is a plus.
High quality standards, ownership mentality, and strong teamwork skills.
Ideally, experience in regulated environments (Banking, Finance, Insurance).
Ability to think beyond your own horizon and develop sustainable solutions.
Very good German and English skills in speech and writing.
