Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize our critical Java applications and services in the Consumer Lending area, creating modern software solutions with real value using Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Microservices, and more.
• Realize new features for our Consumer Lending solutions from concept to production, working across cross-functional boundaries and collaborating with Product Owners, Architects, and international engineering teams to find the best path forward.
• Participate in our architectural decisions, engage in strategic discussions about technology selection, product development, and long-term platform direction, ensuring our solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, resilient, and future-proof.
• Proactively ensure our software stands for quality by introducing and promoting automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring, and best practices.
• Take full responsibility for security, stability, and regulatory requirements in product operations.
• Always rely on teamwork, coach your colleagues with your expertise, and engage in technical discussions within the team.

Requirements

• Completed degree in (Computer) Science or a comparable qualification.
• Many years of professional experience in Java software development, ideally 10 years or more.
• Very good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, Microservices, and software architecture.
• Practical experience with CI/CD, DevOps, Testing, Monitoring, and Observability.
• Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design, Event-Driven Architectures, or Kafka is a plus.
• High quality standards, ownership mentality, and strong teamwork skills.
• Ideally, experience in regulated environments (Banking, Finance, Insurance).
• Ability to think beyond your immediate horizon and develop sustainable solutions.
• Very good German and English language skills in speech and writing.
