Staff Data Scientist - Product Analytics

Headway is on a mission to revolutionize mental healthcare by making it accessible and affordable for everyone. We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist, Product Analytics to join our team and drive data-driven decisions that improve mental health outcomes.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Data Scientist, Product Analytics, you will:

• Own a product measurement strategy: Define key metrics, align stakeholders, and build conviction in what "good" looks like.
• Lead multi-team initiatives: Drive cross-functional work and ensure measurable outcomes.
• Set the experimentation standard: Establish frameworks for test design, guardrails, decision rules, and interpretation.
• Develop evaluation systems for complex products: Combine offline evaluation, online experiments, and human-quality signals.
• Build scalable analytical assets: Invest in durable measurement systems and reduce ad hoc work.
• Mentor and uplevel: Coach other data scientists and analytics partners.
• Be a thought leader: Identify opportunities, shape roadmaps, and create clarity.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience using data to drive product or business decisions.
• Expert fluency in SQL and strong proficiency in Python or R.
• Deep expertise in Bayesian experimentation, causal inference, and measurement design.
• Strong applied modeling judgment.
• A track record of leading ambiguous, cross-team work and delivering measurable outcomes.
• Excellent executive communication and influence.
• Strong product sense and an instinct for decision leverage.
• Motivation for our mission: improving access and affordability in mental healthcare.
