Strong Junior/Middle Business Analyst

About the Position

We are seeking a Strong Junior/Middle Business Analyst to join our dynamic team in Israel, focusing on a cloud-based platform for accounting firms. You will own requirements work on Summa-a cloud-based platform that transforms how accounting firms and tax consultants in Israel operate, using machine learning, AI, and OCR to automate routine work and cut operational hours by up to 80%. The product is live in production with a long-term roadmap, and your work-from the first stakeholder conversation to documented, buildable requirements-directly shapes what the team ships. The role is initially tied to the audit direction, with scope to work across other product directions over time.

Responsibilities

• Own the requirements lifecycle end to end-from initial stakeholder briefs through elicitation, writing, and detailing, and breaking requirements down into clear, buildable scope.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation (BRD, FRD, User Stories, Use Cases).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (PMs, QAs, Designers, Developers, Architects).
• Drive product discovery-investigate problems, explore options, and translate findings into actionable requirements.
• Bridge communication between the business and technical sides.
• Participate in product planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Support ongoing improvements in processes and product delivery.

Note: Product ownership and responsibility for features stay with the Product Owner. The BA’s focus is to capture requirements correctly, detail them, and describe them so the team has a clear, well-defined backlog to build from.

Requirements

• 2+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst within software or SaaS products (we can also consider candidates with 1+ year of experience).
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile practices.
• Experience writing BRDs, FRDs, and user documentation.
• Experience writing requirements for AI functionality-describing features that use AI, defining the expected result, and preparing functional and non-functional requirements for AI components.
• Experience working in a start-up environment.
• English: Upper-Intermediate (B2)+.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
• Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where requirements change quickly, and able to adapt fast.

Context: The project is very dynamic and fast-paced. Candidates who have only worked in large enterprise structures-where everything is spelled out word for word-tend to find it harder to adapt. There’s no rigid set of mandatory tools; what matters more is quickly picking up whatever the team uses.
