Web Developer

About the Position

Huxley, an internal innovation unit to one of the oldest mutual banks in North America, is seeking a Senior Web Developer to join their team responsible for creating new financial technologies that reinvent the banking technology space. The Senior Developer will be joining a small yet accomplished team of developers, marketing, UX, product, and data scientists that come from a startup background and are passionate about reinventing the financial technology space. If you are interested in creating and revamping applications with this innovative and fun team, this is a great opportunity since they are still just starting out. You will have a great deal of ownership and be able to see your work making a difference.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of the full lifecycle of an AngularJS-based web application
• Define and maintain the best software engineering practices
• Mentor junior developers
• Work in a collaborative environment with designers, back-end developers, and product to constantly enhance web and mobile applications
• Demonstrate a passion for developing best-in-class technology solutions, including a desire for continual self-improvement through learning and development
• Take charge of enhancing client code to ensure high performance and stability

Requirements

• A diversified technical background with a minimum of 5 years of proven hands-on development experience, including:
  • Experience in applying Functional and Object-Oriented programming languages
  • Expertise with JavaScript and AngularJS (Raw JS, AJAX, JSON)
  • Experience with back-end and data focus programming languages including Java, Python, C#, Ruby, etc.
  • Understanding of CSS3 and Bootstrap
• Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and working in a continuous integration environment
• Experience using design patterns and following best software development practices
• Passion for developing innovative technology solutions
• Team player with excellent communication and collaborative working skills
• Having a GitHub or Stack Overflow profile is a plus
