An established business technology solutions provider is looking for a Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition and expand its client portfolio.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor position with direct responsibility for the full sales cycle, from identifying and developing opportunities through to negotiation and closing. The position comes with hybrid flexibility following the probation period. €50K – €60K salary.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities, with a strong focus on acquiring new clients and increasing revenue.

  • Develop a consistent pipeline through outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking, industry events, digital channels, and other relevant lead-generation activities.
  • Identify promising industries, prospective clients, market developments, and emerging opportunities that can support continued business growth.
  • Understand prospective clients' requirements and position suitable software and technology solutions to convert qualified opportunities into customers.

  • Prepare and deliver tailored sales presentations, proposals, and pitches that address each client's specific requirements and commercial priorities.
  • Lead discussions around pricing, contractual terms, and commercial agreements to secure commercially viable business.
  • Work with relevant internal teams to ensure proposed solutions meet client requirements and support the company's wider commercial objectives.
  • Take ownership of agreed sales goals and contribute directly to the company's revenue and client growth objectives.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of competitor activity, software market developments, and emerging technologies, using these insights to improve sales approaches and identify opportunities.

Requirements

  • Strong track record in B2B software sales, business development, or a closely related commercial role.
  • Previous experience managing the full sales cycle and successfully winning new business.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate leads, develop a healthy sales pipeline, acquire new clients, and contribute to revenue growth.
  • Experience selling ERP or CRM solutions is beneficial but not mandatory for candidates with strong B2B software sales experience.
  • Previous exposure to Microsoft Dynamics would be considered an advantage.
  • Good understanding of B2B sales methodologies, commercial negotiations, pricing structures, and contractual terms.
  • Ability to research markets, recognise commercial opportunities, and adapt the sales approach accordingly.
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Professional, commercially minded, and comfortable operating independently in an individual contributor capacity.
  • Fluent English is required. Maltese is preferred but is not essential for candidates who are already established in Malta.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, IT, or a related discipline is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications in Sales, Business Development, ERP, CRM, or related technologies would be advantageous.
  • Seniority is flexible, with greater emphasis placed on proven capability and sales performance than on a specific number of years' experience.

We Offer

  • Competitive commission structure
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Hybrid working arrangement with (2 days WFH)
  • Flexibility following probation
